After-School Program

Early Learners

The Literacy & Learning Center works with Macon County child care organizations to provide early literacy programs for our littlest learners.

Individual Tutoring

Tutors are matched with students based on student age and area of need.

Volunteers with skills in upper level math, for example, are matched accordingly. For any match, the only requirement is interest in helping a child learn. Sessions are typically one hour twice a week. A background in education or

experience working with youth is a plus,

but not required.

Events/Administrative

Volunteers are needed for our annual fundraising events including set-up and/or providing general assistance. Administrative assistance includes help with organization, filing, or

bulk mailings.

Summer Camps

TL&LC hosts educational summer camps each year to provide an enriching learning environment for students while they aren't in school. Volunteers assist with fun and educational activities provided by

The Literacy & Learning Center.
