The Literacy and Learning Center is excited to welcome a new cohort of students for the 2025-26 school year, offering a comprehensive suite of free programs tailored to support learners of all ages.

The journey begins with the Pre-K program, which welcomes its newest learners with a mission to provide a nurturing and engaging environment. Running Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., the program fosters a solid foundation for lifelong learning through meaningful play. It is designed to cultivate a supportive and caring community where children and their families feel at home.
Beyond the early years, TL&LC continues its commitment to academic success with its popular After-School programs. Students in grades K through 3 receive homework assistance and participate in engaging educational activities from Monday to Thursday. This includes programs made possible through strong partnerships with local nonprofits, including The Bascom, Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust, Highlands Biological Foundation, Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, Hudson Library, and the Highlands Fire Department. A concurrent program for students in grades 4-8 also meets Monday through Thursday, providing valuable assistance with homework, research, and overall comprehension of their curriculum.
For students who need more focused support, TL&LC offers individual tutoring. This one-on-one assistance is typically provided for one hour, twice a week, to students of any age and in any subject, ensuring every learner has the personalized attention they need to succeed.
As the new school year begins, TL&LC looks forward to welcoming more new faces and celebrating the academic growth of every student, cementing its ongoing role as a vital resource for the community.
