Pre-K Director Carolyn Middlebrooks recently facilitated a series of parent-teacher conferences at The Literacy & Learning Center. These interactive sessions empowered parents to learn about their child's progress, ask questions, and gain valuable resources to support their child's development at home.
"Strong partnerships between parents and teachers are essential for a child's success," said Middlebrooks. "These conferences allow us to share information, set goals, and create a plan to help each child reach their full potential.”
Parents and teachers discussed various topics during the conferences, including their children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. They also explored ways to reinforce learning at home through activities and games. Additionally, Middlebrooks provided parents with helpful resources and information about community programs that can support their child's growth.
Middlebrooks emphasized the crucial role parents play as their child's first and most influential teacher. "By working together, we can create a strong foundation for our children's lifelong learning," she said.
"The parents were so engaged and appreciative of the opportunity to connect with their child's teacher," said Middlebrooks. "It was a wonderful experience to see how excited they were to learn about their child's progress and receive practical tips for supporting them at home.”
The parent-teacher conferences were a resounding success, and Middlebrooks is committed to their continuation in the future. She firmly believes that these ongoing conversations are crucial for building strong relationships between parents and teachers, which ultimately benefits the children.
