TL&LC's College Essay Boot Camp Prepares High School Seniors for Application Success

Updated: 1 day ago

The Literacy & Learning Center is offering a new summer camp specifically for older students this year. This intensive, hands-on workshop is designed to help rising high school seniors and recent graduates craft compelling college application essays. College Essay Boot Camp will be held from July 21 to 25, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Led by Cameron Alexander, an experienced educator with eight years of high school English teaching experience at Wesleyan School, this camp will guide students through the intricacies of college essay writing. Participants will learn the distinctions between different essay types, analyze successful examples, and engage in brainstorming, drafting, peer review, and editing sessions.

The comprehensive curriculum will equip students with the skills and confidence to produce a standout essay. By the end of the week, each participant will have a polished, ready-to-submit essay, a crucial component of their college applications.
