TL&LC Welcomes Kristi Birchfield as Programs Manager
The Literacy & Learning Center is pleased to welcome Kristi Birchfield as its new Programs Manager.
As Programs Manager, Kristi will oversee TLLC’s educational programs for children and adults, including After-School, Individual Tutoring, Summer Camps, Adult Education, High School Equivalency (GED) preparation, Citizenship Class, Financial Literacy, and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Macon County. She will also work close with the Center’s teachers, volunteers, students and families as TLLC continues to strengthen and expand its programs.
Kristi brings a wide range of professional experience to the position, with a background that includes public education, program planning, strategic planning, and technology; skills that will serve her well in her new role. Additionally, joining TLLC is returning to a place she already knows well. She previously worked with the Center’s After-School Program, and her daughters have participated in the TLLC’s summer camps and after-school programs over the years. That experience has given Kristi the opportunity to see the organization for both sides, as a member of the team and as a parent whose family has benefited from the programs.
Kristi’s connection to local education extends beyond her professional work. She volunteers with Highlands School PTO and serves as a mentor with Girls on the Run, reflecting a longstanding commitment to children and families in the Highlands community.

Kristi brings great experience to this position, but just as importantly, she genuinely cares about our students and our mission.
