The Literacy & Learning Center hosted a fun-filled pumpkin carving event on Thursday, October 24, for after-school students and their families. The activity was open to all students, and participants of all ages enjoyed getting creative with their pumpkins.
Armed with carving tools and a variety of pumpkins, students and their families let their imaginations run wild. They carved spooky faces, funny expressions, and even intricate designs. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, excitement, and creativity as everyone worked together to create their unique masterpieces.
"We were thrilled to see so many students and their families join us for the pumpkin carving event," said Caroline Cox, Programs Manager. "It's a great way for our students to have fun, bond with their loved ones, and celebrate the Halloween season while they practice motor skills, such as hand-eye coordination and fine motor control, and explore their sense of creativity.”
After the carving, the students proudly displayed their pumpkins and took photos to commemorate the special occasion. TL&LC plans to continue hosting similar activities in the future.
Special thanks to Highlands Lawn and Garden for their pumpkin donations!
