Pumpkins, Parents, and Play: Fun at the TL&LC Carving Party!

ree

The Literacy & Learning Center hosted a fun-filled pumpkin carving event on Thursday, October 23, 2025, for After-School students and their families. The activity was open to all program participants, and families of all ages enjoyed getting creative with their pumpkins to celebrate the season.

Armed with carving tools and a variety of pumpkins, students and their families let their imaginations run wild. They carved spooky faces, funny expressions, and intricate designs. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, excitement, and creativity as everyone worked together to create unique masterpieces.

"We were thrilled to see so many students and their families join us for the pumpkin carving event," said Caroline Cox, Programs Manager. "It's a wonderful way for our students to have fun, bond with their loved ones, and celebrate the Halloween season while practicing key motor skills like hand-eye coordination and fine motor control, and exploring their sense of creativity."

After the carving, the students proudly displayed their illuminated pumpkins and posed for photos to commemorate the special occasion. TL&LC plans to continue hosting similar, hands-on family activities in the future.

Special thanks to Highlands Lawn and Garden for their generous pumpkin donations!
