Student of the Month - Aiden

Updated: Jan 17

One of The Literacy & Learning Center’s eight-grade After-School students, Aiden Rogers, was named Rotary Club of Highlands’ Student of the Month for January 2024!

This honor is a collaboration between Highlands School and the Rotary Club of Highlands. Each month, three students are selected by their teachers for being exemplary models of Rotary’s Highlander Pride. These students are identified based on four qualities:

1. Doing the right thing

2. Learning something new every day

3. Treating others as they want to be treated themselves

4. Taking responsibility for their actions

Selected students are invited to attend the Rotary Club of Highlands for a luncheon with a guest, Highlands School Guidance Counselor Nicole Lui, and an administrator. During the luncheon, students are recognized and presented with a certificate. Aiden’s parents joined him on Tuesday, January 16 for the occasion.

Assistant Principal Alyssa Debois spoke about Aiden’s interests and traits that led him to be selected for this honor. His favorite subjects in school are mathematics and science. Outside of the classroom, Aiden enjoys learning and practicing theatrical skills with the drama club. He will perform in the play Charlie Brown at Highlands Performing Arts Center in March. At home, Aiden enjoys working with his father and going to church. He named his mother as his role model.
