TL&LC Seeks Dedicated Volunteers for School-Year Programs: A Call for Year-Round Support

ree

As the school year approaches, The Literacy & Learning Center is actively seeking dedicated volunteers to support its vital educational programs. While the generosity of the community is immense, there's a particular and ongoing need for individuals who can commit to volunteering throughout the entire school year, especially during the quieter winter months.

TL&LC's mission to enrich lives and expand knowledge for children, adults, and families is a year-round endeavor. Our after-school programs, individual tutoring, and ESL classes provide consistent, crucial support that doesn't pause when the seasons change. Many of Highlands' cherished part-time residents, who are incredibly generous supporters of local non-profits, typically return to their primary homes during the colder months. This creates a critical gap in volunteer availability precisely when our students continue to need consistent academic assistance and mentorship.

We are specifically looking for volunteers who reside in the area year-round and can continue their invaluable service through the winter. Whether you can commit to a few hours a week for group assistance with after-school or provide one-on-one support, your consistent presence makes a profound difference in the lives of our students. Becoming a year-round volunteer means providing stability and continuity, which are essential for effective learning and building strong relationships.

Your commitment allows TL&LC to maintain the high quality and frequency of its programs, ensuring that every student receives the support they need, regardless of the season. If you are passionate about literacy and learning and can offer your time consistently through the school year, we warmly invite you to join our dedicated team. Your contribution is not just about hours; it's about empowering our community, one learner at a time.
